This is the TL which I said I would start this month in this thread: https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=246821.
The POD is that the British Prime Minister, Herbert Henry Asquith, is shot by two suffragettes as he is leaving 10 Downing Street on 29 September 1909. Here is a link to a newspaper article about the plot to kill Asquith: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2006/sep/29/gender.women.
Soon after 11 o'clock in the morning of Wednesday 29 September, Liberal Prime Minister, Herbert Henry Asquith said goodbye to Margot, his wife, on the steps of 10 Downing Street. After Margot had gone back inside the house, Asquith started to walk down the street. After he had gone a few feet he was shot in the chest by two women and fell to the ground. Bystanders heard them shout "stop torturing our sisters. Votes for women." [1]
When she heard the shots Margot immediately rushed out of the house to her husband, dying from two gunshot wounds in his chest, in the region of his heart. In his dying breath he told her that he loved her and their children. She sobbed with grief over the dead body of her beloved husband.
[1] On 26 September forcible feeding had started of suffragettes on hunger strike.
