Basically, anything that plausibly can go wrong (no ASBs), does go wrong, for both sides of the Great War. Of course, that doesn't mean that nothing can go right, as one side having problems generally helps the other (unless the weather screws with both), but many, many things can go wrong, and thus do. Machines break, gambles don't pay off, plans get buggered for want of a nail, and so forth.
So, how does the war go, with Murphy's Law kicking both sides, far worse than in OTL?
