WI - WWI Christmas Truce

Alright, I've seen this idea a few places, but haven't found a thread on it.

The Setting? WWI
The POD? The Christmas Truce.

On Christmas Day, 1914, German and British troops come together all along the Western Front, as do some French along the same. Such events are more widespread, and some Germans in British trenches (as well as vice versa) do not return come nightfall, and the NCOs do not shoot them. In the morning, an attack is ordered in areas where such truces popped up. The troops do not comply instead coming together under the the NCOs that agree with them. Open rebellion flares along the front.

What happens next, assuming that politicians in the capitols don't quite get with the spirit?

Pacifism wank?

It doesn't strike me as all that probable, old boy. The ASB forum would be an interesting place to discuss it, and it would gild that forum rather. :)

Well, it is somewhat unlikely, but I could see rebellion along some areas. I'm afraid that ASB would turn it into a Pacifism wank, though. I wonder how the warring parties at large would react, though.
