A very favourable scenario is that the French kept the Victor Michel Plan, which planned to absorb German offensives on a defensive stance and then counterattack.
However, the best scenario would be that France and Britain was able to convince Belgium to advance their troops the the East bank of the Meuse river first, then form a defensive line along the river, with stronger machine gun positions at the bridgeheads. Also never clean the German dead bodies on the bridge or allow the enemy to do so, the more the better as mountain of dead bodies alone would effectively stall the next German offensives.
