WI Woodrow Wilson' stroke is delayed bya few months...

I'm reading Oren's Power, Faith, and Fantasy at the moment, and got to wondering, when it got to the aftermath of WWI, what would've happened if Wilson's stoke had been delayed until after the Senate vote on the league of nations. Would he, being in health, have been able to pull it off, US Mandate and all? What might have happened? Would we see a US supported Arab independence movement? Might we possibly see Arabs reconciled with a binational Zionist state?

Given that America did play a fairly major role in European politics in the 1920s, I'm not sure what would change.

Given Wilson's increasing intransigence on getting all of what he wanted or nothing at all, I suspect that in the long run, nothing would have changed. The Senate would still have its irreconcilables; the votes for the treaty as written would have failed; Wilson would have rejected any reservations.

Uh...you sure about that?

Just had a nasty thought re all this that may make it work - WI we give Henry Cabot Lodge the stroke Wilson had...

wasn't the stroke brought on by his excessive travel schedule and stump speeches that he gave to try and get the support for the League?

I was thinking of the mid-east. With a healthier Wilson, pushing the league, I was wondering if it might have been possible for the US to have also gotten a LoN Mandate in the mid-east

That's why it's "delay", not "gone".
