WI WNBA changed their dress code.

WNBA was almost pocked up by NBC, however they were not because they refused to have the "sexy" look NBC wanted.

the new look would have included tights that go to the mid thigh and a tighter belly shirt jersey.

The Commish of the WNBA said something to the regard of "this is a sport not a sex show" and NBC dropped the deal.

WI the WNBA complied with NBC's standards?

another one is Slamball

WI it was picked up by the WWE and was not independent any more. It would have more coverage, yet a lot of lame storylines.

So basically, what you're saying is that the WNBA would resemble women's volleyball in OTL. I'm sure because basketball is a more high-profile sport in the US compared to volleyball, there would be a number of protests by various women's groups.

As for your suggestion on the WWE merger, slamball would probably end up as a passing fancy much like the XFL or like Women's Roller Derby back in the 70's.

The problem is men just don't care about women's sports. The attempts keep coming but they fail everytime. Female boxing. WNBA. Unless you sex it up, American men won't watch. Female athletes tend to be too butch for men to care; that is the stereotype. American men want titillation. They aren't going to sit and watch overly muscular women perform. It's sexist but a reality.

Part of it is the lower level of performance. I mean, sexist or not, an all-female football team is never going to perform at the same level as a professional male team. So it's just not as exciting to watch on its own merits. You need something to add to it, which is why it needs to get sexed up.
