Winfield Scott made his first run for President in 1840, against fellow General William Henry Harrison and Whig leader Henry Clay. Assuming Harrison doesn't run, or endorses Scott before the 5th ballot, and Scott wins over Van Buren, how would Winfield Scott's term in office go? How would he handle the Texas affair? Would he seek a second term in 1844 if things go right, or stick to the one-term pledge?
