WI William lands first

what if in 1066 William the Conquerer lands in England first as before Harold Hadrarda, let's say that Harold does not get out into sea until later than he did, what would happen then happen next?

Several ways to do this. Maybe Harald of Norway is delayed further, but I don't see why - even a Viking wouldn't want to sail in the winter, would he? I think it's more likely that William gets his wind earlier in the season and lands in the summer or earlier fall. In the summer, Harold of England was encamped with an army on the Isle of Wight, waiting. He disbanded it a little while before Harald of Norway landed; I'm not sure quite when. How much earlier were you thinking?

hmm lets say harold left norway a week, two weeks later, not much but for enough time for William to land first really

William is captured on the south-coast after a series of skirmishes, while Harold manages to land and fortify his position sufficiently to prevent Harold from retaking the area until summer 1067.
