/WI: What if OJ Simpson Hadn't Been Spotted in Bronco Chase

What is OJ Simpson while having his friend Al Cowlings drive him in his Ford Bronco had not been spotted on the highway by police nor turned himself into the police? Where would he have gone and happened?

Hey this is a stupid question; but I was in preschool, so my apologies if this is obvious-- why didn't he just swap into a car that he wasn't connected to? Have Al buy a cheap car from a random car lot and drive off.

You're right about it being a stupid question. If O.J. didn't want to be spotted he could have had someone he truly trusts procure a cheap vehicle (From out of state and maybe put California plates lifted from a identical or similar vehicle in place of the out of state plates) that can't be traced to him placed at a predetermined site least likely to draw attention that's easy for him to get to and order Al to just drive around the area in the Bronco while he drives away in the other vehicle towards Nevada or Arizona (Changing the plates to the out of state plates before in a remote area along the way) unless O.J. slipped out immediately after being told that he must turn himself in finding a way to convince Shapiro that he will surrender as scheduled (Deliberately avoiding that) and hopefully by using the procured cheap vehicle as mentioned he gets to San Diego (He can get there in roughly 3 Hours with no gridlock) or if he's lucky successfully cross into Mexico before the All Points Bulletin is issued. Beyond getting into Mexico without a good disguise and a good fake passport O.J. is likely stuck there since the Police will quickly get wind of O.J. being in Mexico and any passport issued to O.J. is quickly revoked.

I'll imagine uses the passport and disguise he has to take Interstate 5 down to Mexico and slip away by switching into another car. The police are looking for him over the next several days across the whole state. Simpson tries to lay low in Mexico for several weeks and acquire transport in cash to locations with no extradition to the United States. In attempting to arrange this transportation, he is recognized by the authorities in Mexico and arrested. His is extradited back to the United States.

In the event that O.J. successfully avoids getting caught (Regardless if he crossed the border or not) the moment that the All Points Bulletin for him is issued the Mexican law enforcement will be notified immediately in case O.J. is in Mexico (Same goes for Canada in case O.J. goes there instead). The police will not just look in California for O.J. but it would be a nationwide manhunt and expect the F.B.I. to likely get involved due to suspicion of O.J. crossing state lines (Police in the areas where O.J. has any loved ones living at will be on the lookout too) and expect O.J. to be featured on America's Most Wanted as well. If O.J. had managed to get into Mexico the problem he faces is how to get to a non extradition treaty country with his own passport useless and with the money he has on his person (All of his bank accounts will have been frozen at this point). If O.J. was spotted and arrested in Mexico he will fight extradition at all costs even going as far as trying to be tried for the Murders in Mexico under Mexican Law which if successful he has a chance to avoid spending the rest of his Life in prison (Mexican Courts usually doesn't hand out Life sentences) and if O.J. eventually gets extradited back to the United States it would only be if Mexico is convinced that O.J. will not be sentenced to Life without parole regardless but even then the Mexican Government might easily just decide to circumvent it by just Deporting O.J. back to the United States quickly (Easier if his passport is revoked).

All of network tv isn't completely preempted all evening to show a car driving aimlessly around L.A.. Over twenty years later and I'm still bitter about that because there was something I wanted to watch that night. At this point, I don't even remember what it was I wanted to watch, I just remember that there was something. Why after twenty minutes they just didn't return to regularly scheduled programming with a promise to return to the scene if anything happened is beyond me.
