Edward VIII is the king of "What it could be", because he quit in less than a year. He resigned to marry a american divorcee, Wallis Simpson, and never had children, thus allowing George VI to be coronated and his daughter Elizabeth was crowned, and she still is the Queen of the United Kingdom and argably the most powerfull woman in the world.
Now here a question: Wallis Simpson is erased from history and so Edward VIII is coronated, he marries someone, this person is not important for the thread, and sucesfully produce heirs. My question is: Now that Edward VIII remains in power, what happens to George VI, remaining as Duke of York, to Elizabeth that is not the Queen on this scenario, and how would Edward VIII lead the United Kingdom along with the parliament and Churchill or Mountbatten during WWII and the cold war? What would be the more visible changes from the modern UK to the UK on this scenario? Would Britain keep newfoundland?
