I've noticed with a bit of reading on ancient Egyptian religion that they don't seem to have a Poseidon analogue. The closest is the god Wadj-wer - possibly the god of the med, but more likely god of the marshes and lagoons of the Nile Delta.
So my question is what if Wadj-wer and his cult evolved to be a God of the Seas and Oceans - perhaps the "Son of Hapi" - or may portraying the Seas as various Children of Hapi.
If this cult became important (perhaps due to being more interested in overseas trade than OTL Egypt), what further changes could this have had on Egypt? Could they have evolved into a true maritime power?
Alternatively, could Egypt "adopt" Poseidon or another Ocean God from another culture and weave them into the Pantheon somehow?
