WI:VJ day before VE day..

I began to wonder.. What if Japan surrendered before germany did in WW2, What will happen? Will the newly-independent countries(ex.korea and palau) join the war in europe?

Might change things depending on who's motivating the war effort from Korea and the like - we may be looking at both the Chinese nationalists and communists fighting alongside each other and then a negotiated postwar divide a la Germany.

Even if Japan surrendered before Germany, I can't see any Korean or other Pacific area newly independent countries sending forces to Europe. The Allies would probably have a trusteeship over the Korean Peninsula for years (OTL was 5 years) before they would allow a government and associated military forces to form.

With regards to the Nationalist Chinese, they may send a notional force to Europe but they would keep the bulk of their forces in China in preparation for the re-start of the Chinese Civil War. The Communists would probably lose the Civil War as they would have a weaker starting position than OTL without the Soviets holding Manchuria.

For korea , what are the scenarios?

Depends a lot on China and the USSR. I think the USSR will still be busy in Europe, so they won't have the resources to devote to Asia. So that by itself weakens the CCP.

If Germany going down is as sure a thing as it was IOTL then both the KMT and CCP stay home. The CCP probably loses and either escapes to Taiwan, crowds into Manchuria, or disappears. In any scenario, the ROK ends up being established throughout the Korean Peninsula and the communists are out of luck.

The only scenarios in which a DPRK survives are ones that involve at least a partition in China, preferably with Manchuria under communist rule. Anything less, and even a red Manchuria gets bulldozed.
