WI Victoria is Elizabeth II?

OK, this is somewhat silly idea that just struck me while playing Victoria II. WI queen Victoria would not be named Victoria but Elizabeth II? I'm thinking that during two most glorious periods on English/British history they would be ruled by queen named Elizabeth. Not really a far reaching POD that would prevent WW1 or anything, just a historical curiosity.

Would that be even possible? People more knowledgable about British monarchs naming practices can tell if she could be named such anyway.

Eh, you never know; one name can go a long way, especially over a period of time that is as long as Queen Victoria's reign.

Would that be even possible

Victoria's full name is Alexandrina (after Emperor Alexander I) Victoria (after her mother), but had several different names proposed during her christening ceremony particularly Georgina, Charlotte and Augusta, all three of which were refused by the future George IV. A year after Victoria was born, William IV had a child whom was later called Elizabeth, so it would technically be possible to name Victoria 'Elizabeth' in some ATL, especially seeing as she was five places down the line of succession,as well as the fact that one of her other close family members was called 'Elizabeth'; King George III's third daughter.

Also (ignoring butterflies), having a video game known as Elizabeth II doesn't really have the same appeal as Victoria II, does it.

It could be possible if Victoria named as Elizabeth instead Victoria. But I don't know was Victoria supported being queen when she born.

No, she was fifth in line, but was seen as one of the more likely candidates due to the fact that most of the potential successors before her in line were old, childless (with the first two having married women who were no longer of child bearing age), and had a string of still births and sickly children who died young.

She could be named Elizabeth in honour of her father "Edward"?

Also it would be a strong contrast to the first Elizabeth.

The first had no children while the other had nine.... or would the new name make the new Elizabeth want to stay a "virgin" as well?

I have often read that during the Victorian era there was something of a reassessment of the life and reputation of Mary, Queen of Scots and integral to that was criticism and dismissal of her great rival, Elizabeth I and her legacy as a politically strong, educated and most importantly unmarried and childless woman, which was at odds with what was valued by Victorian society.

Elizabeth's legacy does not seem to have been as valued in 19th century Britain, in the way that it does in the 21st century.

In OTL, Scotland was always a little miffed at the idea of Elizabeth II (because, well, she was Elizabeth I for them), so Churchill came up with the suggestion of using the highest regnal number between the two kingdoms (thus the next King James will be James VIII). I'm not sure what the reaction would have been in the mid-19th century.

When Princess Victoria was christened in 1819, the Prince Regent did not want the names Charlotte, Elizabeth, or Georgina used.
Suppose the Prince Regent is fascinated with his new niece. He declares that she may be called Elizabeth.
Thus the Princess is christened Elizabeth Henrietta Victoria.
