Dreamworks has had distribution deals with a lot of studios up until 2016, when they got bought by NBCUniversal. From 2006-2012, that distributor was Paramount, owned in turn by Viacom. The deal expired on December, 31, 2012, but there was reportedly an offer to extend it, which was turned down by Jeffrey Katzenberg. My question is, what if Viacom decides to go all-out, and buys Dreamworks Animation, lock, stock, and barrel? This means that Paramount Pictures now has access to a wide array of profitable franchises, something which will certainly be a great asset, as Paramount is, to this day, the weakest of the Big Six studios. This also gives Viacom access to Classic Media, a company which Dreamworks owns, and all its properties, like Rocky and Bullwinkle, Harvey Entertainment, Filmation's various work, and Voltron. You can bet Nickelodeon is gonna be taking full advantage of that. Your thoughts?
