One of the biggest blunders of Verne was his use of a gun to bring travelers to the Moon in his famous novel.
Rockets already existed by the time, but Verne ignored them.
I wonder what would have happened if, let's say, Verne had chosen to explore the way of rocket propelled engine, perhaps even theorizing liquid propelled rockets, maybe with the help of some chemist and/or physicist to do calculations.

Verne was a great source of inspiration for many and a monument of science fiction. My idea is that he may have, if using rockets in his novels, led to an earlier start of space exploration.
