WI Vandals expand into the Balkans in 468 AD?

In 468 AD a Vandal fleet under Geiseric sailed towards Peloponese aiming in conquering south Peloponese and use it as a base for further expansion north.
However when Vandal troops landed near Kenipolis (thats near cape Tainaron) they met heavy resistance from the local population and after a fierce battle the Vandal attack was repulsed.
Geiseric having suffered heavy casualties didnt attempt a second attack and returned to Carthage after plundering Zakynthos island first.

WI Vandals were able to conquer south Peloponese and from there expand to the north? Emperor Leo I was powerless to resist them since his navy had been destroyed in the disastrous campaign against Vandals in the same year and West under the firm grasp of Ricimer would be reluctant to help them (since Ricimer was somehow friendly towards Vandals)

With North Africa hundreds of miles away, the Eastern Empire's remaining naval units and new ships cut off the Peloponnese from Vandal supply.

Leo I couldnt afford any new ships... He had already emptied the imperial treasury funding the failed campaign and Geiseric still had enough fireships to deal with the remnants of the imperial fleet, plus the attack in Kenipolis happened only months after the failed attack in Carthage and even if Leo had the money he wouldnt have the time to build new ships...

The fireships only worked by huge chance. They can't be used as any guarantee against the Byzantines.

Indeed... But they did good job in Carthage burning more than half roman fleet... still Geiseric could use them to scare off the romans since the disaster was still a fresh memory.
After all Vandals could supply their troops by pillaging the nearby towns and islands.

The fact that the locals drove off the Vandals is telling. Fact is, the Eastern Empire was more populous and had a better supply of men of fighting age. The West was ripe for invasion, the East was not. While it is possible that the Vandal navy could defeat the broken Eastern naval forces, and it is equally possible that the Vandals could land, maybe even conquer a few towns... the East would simply drive them off by land. You'd need an earlier POD for Vandal penetration of the Balkans to be feasible.

OTL it took another 150 years before solid control of the Balkans fell apart. And even then, it took an incompetent Emperor, a massive Persian attack, a massive Avar attack, a plague, an empty treasury and a host of other events before it happened.

If at the same time Ostrogoths who were in Pannonia (if i am not mistaken) decide to move south towards Balkans instead going West and Vandals are successful in capturing Peloponese then Emperor Leo I would be in a very difficult situation splitting his forces in 2 fronts
