WI: US doesn't disband Iraqi security forces, avoids Rumsfeld doctrine

We go in with a larger number of forces, the Iraqi Army(Nearly 400,000 strong) is kept intact, and the police force isn't disbanded.

Are we still there today?

"What if we had went in with lighter forces (less strain on budget, manpower), disbanned the Bathist Army and police forces(avoiding tainting the new goverment with the sins of the old).

Would we still be there today?

I'm not sure that would be the case.

It might be "Could we have kept the Kurds as part of the Iraqi state?" or "How could we have prevented the break-up of Iraq?" or even (my personal belief "Would it have been better if we had captured bin-Laden & put him on trial rather than him getting killed in that cave?"

Maybe even "You know, I'm sorry to see 'ol GW leave office." (Unlikely to be sure but...)
