POD late 1944, As they approach the Rhine River American soldiers suffer increased casualties. FDR's sucessor tires of signing death notices to grieving mothers. He decides to continue supplying the Russian and British Armies, but (quietly) orders American troops to only advance slowly.
Post WW2, the British Army occupies Schleswig-Holstein, Friesland and the Rhur with the Russian Army occupying the rest.
The French Army barely maintains a watch on the Southern Rhine as they struggle to limit French Communists.
