WI: UK founding member of EEC

What if the UK was a Founding member of the Following Groups

EEC = European Economic Community
ECSC = European Coal And Steel Community
EAEC = European Atomic Energy Community
ESA = European Space Agency

And maybe a founding member of a group that doesn't exist OTL

EEMC = European Economic Modernisation Community

Also Im thinking that the UK government starts rationalisation of business meaning lets say the uk has 20 small Companies that make planes well the government would get those companies to merge into lets say 5 large company's

How would this change the timeline
How would the EEC/EU change from OTL
:)

I don't know much about the ESA, but here are a couple of thoughts on the EEC/EU:

1. Labour Party would struggle electorally. Atlee and co spent a long time dodging the issue of EEC membership back when it was ECSC because of the large scale Trade Union opposition to it. Any Labour Party that takes Britain into Coal and Steel would struggle to appease a large section of its base for the first decade or so until things calmed down.

2. Brussels bureaucracy would be better, and so would Whitehall. For much of the British membership of the EEC/EU it sent second rate civil servants to Brussels whilst other partners sent young high-flyers to be trained up. If Britain is a more active participant early on, these positive connections and opportunities could be more usefully harnessed.
