WI: Tsongas won the 1992 Democratic Nomination

So what would it take for Tsongas to get nominated in 1992, I think Jerry Brown decidng against entry would be a huge vote, as he would be able to solidify most of the Anti Clinton Sentiment felt by nonSouthern voters. But would the Party Leaders want to nominate another Greek Bay Stater just four years after the bomb of the Dukakis Campaign? Also who would be his VP nominee? and could Tsongas win out agains Bush and Perot? Please discuss.

I don't see Tsongas winning. He had a bit of a speech impediment when talking was without a doubt the most uncharismatic candidate I've ever seen. He was also perceived as being significantly to the right of Bill Clinton and I don't think young people, minorities, or liberals would have turned out in any significant numbers to beat him.

He also would have zero appeal in the South and there's no way that he could win Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia the way Clinton did in OTL.

Bush would beat him like a drum.
