Donald Trump, now our President-elect, was not predicted to run for president in 2016. Polls for the Republican primaries showed Governor Jeb Bush, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Rand Paul, Governor Scott Walker, and many others. With Trump running, almost everything in the Republican primaries, and eventually the presidential election, changed. Trump's right-wing populist rhetoric has even changed some principles of the Republican Party and caused several traditionally "blue states" (Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, hell even Minnesota was close) to vote Republican.
What I would like to know is how different the Republican primaries would have gone, who would have been nominated, would this affect the Democratic primaries in any way, and would they win against Clinton/Kaine (assuming they are still the nominees).
