WI: Timur in Europe

WI: Timur in Europe

Timur after crushing the Ottoman army at Ankara in 1402 and ravaging western Turkey, Timur was looking to finish his enemies. My question is what if Genoa and Venice decided to help Timur out by transporting his army to Thrace. Timur would then proceed to level take Adrianople, the Ottoman capital. After this what other havoc could he cause in Europe?

Maybe the Roman Empire concludes as a pyramid of skulls. Even if Constantinople survives, the rest of the Balkans are going to be trashed by Timur's armies. It will all melt away after his death though. The resulting power vacuum could allow the Bulgarians or Serbians or Romanians a time to shine though.

Wouldn't those three countries also suffer from Timur's atrocities though? I can imagine the Serbian Despotate being the Timurids' big target due to it being an Ottoman vassal, and Bulgaria would fare worse. The fate of the Greeks though, will definitely be tragic.

Maybe Hungary would be far enough away to survive Timur's rampage and take over the Balkans.
