WI the white Rose German resistance organization survved

So WI Sophie Scholl, Hans her brother and the key members of this group survived to 1944 could their pamplets be taken seriously leading to an overthrow of hitler.

This group was basically students from the university of Munich who protested against Nazi Germany. What effect would they surviving hitlers regime have on the world. Could we potentially see te fall of Nazi Germany a year earlier??

A non-violent overthrow of the Third Reich?

I don't see how the White Rose could have succeeded honestly. As heroic as its leaders were they were college students and their literature reached a limited audience--i.e. college students. There were other resistance movements in Germany at the time but at this point they weren't really communicating with one another. Unless the White Rose had been able to greatly expand their audience and their means to reach others I don't see this going much beyond a movement at the college level.

to non-violent over throw the Nazis you need near universal support of every one, you'd need workers in factories to strike (all of them), and enlisted men not to take orders, lots of people willing to die, its just unlikely, with the Allies bombing civilians daily its hard to get people behind "Lets do nothing to hit back!" I think they knew Hitler was bad, but who cares he didn't bomb my house! also fear of the Russians, and for very good reasons. also I'm unsure if a general strike would even stop them, they were using so many Slaves at that point who would do anything to get enough food to stay alive another day.

even College Students are unlikely to be very into resisting, being in college is keeping them out of the war, listening or being to close to people Hitler doesn't like gets them on the Eastern Front.

I agree with Geon. The White Rose is historically insignificant. Some college or high school students passing anti-Nazi or anti-war literature will have zero effect. This is not to fault them. Resistance has to start somewhere. But they did not have any means to challenge the Nazi state in any way that would have ended the war sooner.

The only resistance group that had the means were the conservatives in the military responsible for the July 20 bomb plot because they had access to a lot more resources, had more experience, and were more organized. But even their plot was a long shot. They not only needed to kill Hitler, but arrest all high ranking Nazi officials.

The White Rose would only have been one more small, insignificant resistance group after the war. Individual members might have entered politics or done something else with some impact as individuals. But that would be all.
