If UK ever breaks apart, will there be people to who will claim Uk to be artificial dynastical state?
Well, it is. That is, it got started as one, but then grew together. I think the same can be said about Czechoslovakia.
Hm, why did it come up so suddenly in 1992 then anyways?

If you get one more pro-western minister then no. OTL several of ministers resigned trying to force a fall of goverment, alas Jan Masaryk minister of foreign affairs and Ludvik Svoboda minister of defense and former commander of Czechoslovak Army in Russia did not support them. One more resignation and the president would have to remove goverment.
Well, but as long as Czechoslovakia is in the western regogncied Soviet sphere of influence, the Soviets will find one way or another to push communism through. But yes, if we run with "WI western Czechia" this would be different of course.

The likelihood of the West abrogating Yalta is extremely small. That's a major reason Ike held back the British, American and other armies. Who wants to announce that you sacrificed thousands of men for someone else's prize?

There's also a major difference between the US liberating the Czech Republic and the US liberating a thin slice of land ending in Prague.

There was an arguement if there should by hyphen in the name ie Czechoslovak Federal Republic or Czecho-Slovak Federal Republic.

As to why the leaders at the time led discussion to breaking of republic, well it was pain getting majority in federal assembly. There really was not that much dislike for federation, I mean, Czechs did patronize Slovaks, they do that still, not much of effect there. The most often heard argument acording to my family was "them Czechs\Slovaks held us back, we will reform quicker on our own". And well, there just was not much active will to keep it together, lot of people had other priorites in the changing society of post-communist era.
