WI the VOC allowed more immigration to the Cape.

So the initial settler population was small and due to the authoritarian rule of the Company such as telling farmers what to grow for what price, controlling immigration, and monopolising trade with the colony the population still grew and by 1800 due to the high birth rate the population was well over 60 thousand, so WI the VOC allowed more people to immigrate to the colony, and wasn't that harsh on populous could the colony have become a market of the companies goods is the population was bigger.

Interesting...

If by themselves, they bred like bunnies to the point they reached such levels of population... If the VOC had notr been such tyrants, the Cape migt have at least gotten twice that population, probably even much more!

Hell... Maybe this means the Britons will have a tougher time seizing it?

But I have a question... How many Boers were there by mid-1740's, the time of the War of Austrian succession?

According to a census in 1750, 6,000

...

You mean to tell that the Boers, completely on their own, managed to literally multiply their population by a factor of 10 in roughly 50 years!?

That's... Quite a lot of shagging they've been doing...

The wiki says its white free burghers so probably not the total population but just male landowners?

Also it says 26,000 Afrikaners in 1806 when the Brits took Cape Colony...not 60,000
