WI: The Visigoths invade Africa

IOTL, after the first Sack of Rome, Alaric headed into Southern Italy, planning to invade Sicily and North Africa for their grain, but fell ill and died. The Visigoths, under his brother Athaulf, then went back north and were settled in Aquitaine as foederati, but what if the Visigoths had invaded Sicily and/or Southern Italy, either through Alaric not dying or Athaulf deciding to follow through instead of turning back north? Would they have had any more success than the Vandals?

Any thoughts?

I wonder if they would have had as much success as the Vandals, or success nearly as long. If they do make it and conquer, I think about the only way they would endure longer than the Vandals is if the ERE is nerfed and never even gets in a position to try western campaigns like Justinian's.

True. Even IOTL, the Vandals began to lose territory to the Berbers before Belisarius conquered them. The then Arian Visigoths would probably have the same problems as the Vandals.
