WI the US purchased Greenland following or during WW2?

    If the US went through with such a purchase what would be the current status and development of a present day Greenland, and what impact would this have had on the US as a whole?

    I'd imagine it'd have double the population at least and an even larger U.S. military presence; it's too valuable for the GIUK Gap, the North Sea route, its resources, etc
