Hey,
So partly inspired by the earlier 1812 war scenario, I started reading a little on America-French relations and it seems there was some debate on what america should do.
Let's say that instead of doing the whole recognize but stay neutral in the issue, Washington and Congress decide to uphold their connection with the new republic though the treaty and accepting the diplomat that was sent to them around this time. Let say this change is in the hope that America can influence the new government in a more moderate direction?
So what happens?
P.S-I know Britain would be VERY pissed off and would not take to kindly, but I am curious of the effects beyond that.
