WI: The United States enters WW1 as a Central Power but loses

Let's say that the United States joins World War 1 as an ally of Germany but still loses the war to the Entente.

How could the Entente have beaten the Central Powers with the United States as an enemy?

Assuming they win, what kind of concessions will the United States have to make? I could imagine the Philippines being given to Japan or Britain, the United States having to give Hawaii to Britain and Alaska to Canada.

What would be the long term effects of a US defeat in WW1? A worse Great Depression? Isolationist USA? Revanchist USA?

for the CP to lose will be difficult because the Austrians have to make more mistakes with the Germans, with the Americans as enemies the Entente does not get money loans and Canada would be easily invaded, the Navy of England could not make a big blockade against Germany since it has to fight against the American Navy.

How could the Entente have beaten the Central Powers with the United States as an enemy?

They couldn't have. With as balanced a conflict as WW1 was, putting the US on either side is enough to tip it for victory. There's just not really any way for the Entente to force the US to make any kind of concession or knock them out of the war while also keeping the other various fronts against the Central Powers stable.

All that aside I'm not really seeing the US as a Central Power anyway.

Why would the US be a Central Power though?
Large German and Irish population (both had reasons to support the Central Powers), numerous naval disputes with Britain, having no real reason to have a problem with Germany until the unrestricted submarine warfare and the Zimmerman telegraph are among the most important reasons. This obviously wasn't enough to push the US away from Britain, but maybe the British sink an American trading vessel bound for a neutral country by mistake? That nearly happened a few times during the war.

How about a more competent Russia? If Russia was stronger, it would ease the pressure on the western front, which would allow Britain and France to divert more resources to naval warfare. I remember reading somewhere the British plan was to shell US cities on the east coast, how effective would that have been?

I think that the only real advantage the Entente has is naval. I don't think that the Entente could blockade the United States. But the British naval fleet, supported by France and Japan, could probably sink most of the American fleet and most American shipping and prevent the US from delivering meaningful aid and manpower to the Central powers.

Even without active obstruction, it's hard to get Americans onto the battlefield. In OTL the American forces essentially came in on a paved highway. Clear shipping, willing and ready active intact ports, and an infrastructure that accepted and welcomed them every step of the way. I don't think that the United States could actually access Central power territories in any meaningful way, that was bottled up too tight. And I don't think that they could really mount amphibious landings in British or French territory in any kind of number.

The most likely play out is that Canada gets invaded, likely prematurely, and provokes a messy insurgency campaign, particularly in Quebec, British Colombia and the Maritimes. The United States loses control of the Phillipines, Hawaii and Pacific and Caribbean territories, possibly the Panama Canal. The war ends in Europe, the US goes 'what the hell are we fighting about' and they call it a day, walking out of Canada in exchange for the return of the Canal, Pacific and Caribbean possessions. They get the Canal back, Canada gets Finlandized, and its 'as you were.'
