WI: The Tunguska Impact Event Objects mass was 40%Gold?

How different would the Impact Event be with the new composition of this Time Line's Fallen Object? How big would the explosion be compared to OTL?Would the damage to the region be significantly worse? What knock on effects would the Event have on Russian Society&culture?Would the region still be habitable&how long would dangerous levels of Radiation linger? How long would it be til the Gold is discovered?Would the Gold be scattered by the Impact or become molten&pool in the crater?

Well, the Tunguska event is estimated to have entered the atmosphere at around 3 km/s, meaning that it had a a peak shock layer temperature of around 2727 ºC. Gold melts at 1064.18 °C, and boils at 2856 °C, meaning that most, if not all, of the object would simply disintegrate in the atmosphere. So there wouldn't be a Tunguska event.

iirc the Tunguska object was only 60 m across, and was mostly rock. If you change that to 40% gold then you're going to lose a substantial amount of material right off the bat that you wouldn't otherwise, and then you're going to lose a lot of rock that otherwise would have survived because it no longer has anything backing it up.
