WI: The Siege of Mohacs

My apologies if this seems a bit rough. But from what I could make out the Bohemians refused to fight with the Hungarians at Mohacs (Bohemia said the 16th century of equivalent of "not our circus, not our monkeys"), the Croats were late to the party (only arriving after the battle), and the Hungarians such as DID turn out were equipped rather old-fashionedly, while the Imperial/Polish allies were both busy with their own stuff when the battle happened.
Why did the Bohemians refuse to help? Or were the Croats late? Wasn't Lajos king of Hungary AND Croatia AND Bohemia? Surely the Bohemians could've been reasoned with "if you don't help Hungary now, who's gonna protect you when Hungary's Turkish?" Or was there a reason they didn't want to get their hands dirty?

I came across this suggestion on another forum of what if instead of retreating to the "swamps" around the Danube, Lajos II and co had retreated to the town of Mohacs instead and buckled down for a siege. Could the Transylvanians/Croats have broken the Turkish siege? (According to wiki these troops were only a few days' march away). Would this have made any major difference in European/Hungarian history? Suleiman considered the Hungarian army a sort of suicide squad (and was apparently scared they were the advance guard of a much larger force). Or would the Turks simply just smash Hungary elsewhere?

Can Mohacs be even sieged? I don't remember it having walls...

Louis II seemed overconfident considering he faced the Ottoman Army in open field. If he had the intellect to retreat behind fortification he never had met the Ottomans near Mohacs. He would just stay in Buda.

Ideally is Petrovaradin. After that, there are no major fortifications all the way to Buda if I remember it correctly.

Choices are: stay in Buda for a Siege or stay in Petrovaradin before it falls.

As I said, apologies for the roughness. I wasn't aware Mohacs didn't have walls. I just saw it in another alt-history thread and it sounded like a cool what-if off the bat.

That said, wikipedia (I know, I know, blasphemy! ;) ) mentions that the Ottoman troops had just marched all the way to Mohacs at the height of summer heat (I've never been to Hungary and live in the southern hemisphere so I'm guessing their Augudt is like our February (the hottest month of our summer. Seriously, imagine starting school and the first week you have to wear collar shirts, ties and blazers in 42C heat, so I can sympathize if you're in military gear)) but the Hungarians didn't attack them when they arrived because it would've been "ungentlemanly". These are guys coming to curbstomp your country and you're worried about what Emily Post's Guide for Throwing an Invasion Party would say?

I think Louis II thought the defenses of Belgrade would hold. When that failed he had to assemble an Army while the Ottomans were already besieging Petrovaradin. I don't think it was them considering it ungentlemanly to immediately attack. After all, it is the same Hungary that broke the truce in 1444 with the Varna Crusade.

If Louis II was a bit older and experienced he'd have an Army assembled before Belgrade fell. Just to hold keep an eye out for Zemun and Petrovaradin.
