WI:The Russians discover the route to asia to americas not the Spanish

In my TL No Magellan Expedition I chose to butterfly the Magellan Expedition completely, what if the Russians not the Spanish discover the Pacific Route to the Americas due to their expansion east instead of the Spanish, how would that affect history?

Based upon my limited knowledge of Russian expansion and naval history, Russian was not in a position for such exploration until the middle of the 17th century. Some other nation would have discovered the pacific route before the Russians.

The question is who will? the Dutch? or the Japanese?

I think the fact that the most competent spanish navigator was, in fact, portuguese, already shows which country would discover the pacific route, if not Spain.

Correct. Here's a map of when Russia conquered everything:

To get from Asia to the Americas at the time would have required going through the Arctic Sea. Much of the arctic sea is covered by ice, and even today a large part of the northern seas of Russia are only accessible if you have an icebreaker.
