Stallin actually refused to belief the Germans invaded until they were 100 or so Kilometers inside Soviet borders! When he retreated to his Dacha on the Black sea, he was expecting a visit from party bosses, military personnel and securicrats all together forcing him to go, possibly even killing him. However, when they did come it was actually under the theme - Dear Stallin, we need you now more than ever! Hardly a surprise considering the climate of fear and a story that when he became party leader at the the first congress under his stewardship, he, being a Georgian, still couldn't speak Russian properly and mispronounced a common Russian word, Guess what all other delegates to the congress made absolutely sure they prononunced it exactly the same way during the gathering!
Actually as an aside does anyone know as to what caused his paranoia - was it just a mental illness!
Also was he actually the most important wartime leader ultimately!
So what would have happened folks under the 'sacking' of uncle Joe?
