Ok so I read that fairly early in world war one the Ottomans sent 90,000 soldiers to the Balkans, which soon ballooned to about 120,000 if not more. This sizeable force did relatively little; casualties were heavy and Serbia (the main enemy in the region) was defeated by the Austro-Hungarians and Greece locked in place by them and the Bulgarians.
Now, what if these forces had been redeployed? I'm thinking either Armenia or Sinai. Now in 1915 they were ulikely to send them to defend Sinai, given the British were on the defensive in Egypt, but maybe a more successful push towards Suez?
Furthermore, assuming that the British still send TE Lawrence to Arabia, would a more uccessful Arab revolt ensue, give nthat the Briitsh and French would be in less of a position to make territorial demands? Could we see a post-war united Arab kingdom?
