WI: The New York Giants Moved To Minneapolis And The Brooklyn Dodgers Moved To Houston

Wonder if this would've led to the blossoming of the PCL, turning it into a fully major league, since they wouldn't be encroached upon for several more years.

With the Giants going to Minny, what happens to the Senators? That would determine the fate of one of the eventual expansion teams (I can see NY, LA, and SF getting teams if baseball expands in the early-60's).

Also, didn't the Cardinals have the territorial rights to Houston? And if the Dodgers tried to move there, would Walter O'Malley have enough to pay Anheuser Busch the necessary fees?

I think that is why they moved it so fast to california, to kill the PCL, for me, they would moved the giants elsewhere(atlanta? maybe) and keep the dodgers and slowly integrated the PCL teams.

Giants aren't going anywhere while the Dodgers rivalry is still so hot and heavy. Same with the Dodgers. Now, I could see them both moving to Dallas/Fort Worth

I don't know if it was explicitly Cardinals territory, but I don't think they would have demanded fees. How they could keep a rivalry in Minneapolis and Houston, I don't know, but what I do know is that 1). The OTL date is 1958, not 1956. 2). That the Giants would move into the Metrodome and the Dodgers would move into the Astrodome (or the Dodgerdome, or the Dodgedome, which would be funny if Chrysler Corporation tied it in, sparking the trend of naming rights earlier than OTL [1970 for Rich Stadium]). They would probably also get new ballparks in the 1990s, in Houston it might be called Dodger Stadium and in Minneapolis maybe Target, Best Buy, or some other company based in Minneapolis-St. Paul could get naming rights.
