WI: The Kharijites bag them all

On the day Ali ibn Talib, the son-in-law of Muhammad and later inspiration for Shi'a Islam, was assassinated by a Kharijite zealot with a poisoned sword similar attempts were made on Mu'awiyya and Amr al-As, the founder of the Umayyad Dynasty and the Muslim governor of Egypt respectively, that both failed.

What if the Kharijites got all three of their intended targets? What impact would this have on the development of Islam for all three of the heavyweights of the Muslim world and top contenders for the caliphate following Uthman's death to go down in the same day?

The consequences would have been somewhat limited for Ummayads. They were a strong clan even before their islamization and would have likely alternative candidates to caliphate. Yazid, his son, was already born at this moment.
Admittedly, alids themselves could benefit from the chaos and settle their position with Hussain at their head.
But I think that most Arabs would fear the establishment of a strong dynasty based on their line itself (well, it did happen to Umayyads, historically, but not immediatly) and that Yazid would be eventually favoured.

Now, it could changes many things for kharidjits, being considered as a favoured target and kharidjits communauties would have been likely harassed and crushed without pity.
It would have interesting consequences on the kharidjisation of Berbers, depending on how the repression would be made, it could really increase the odds of religious opposition there (and a harsher, possibly earlier Berber Revolt)

Possibly even in time to pre-empt the overthrow of Visigothic Spain?

That's a distinct possibility, yes. Originally, it was a reall good pressure release for Berbers (and allowed the Arabs to keep the lead) but if Berbers are earlier and deeper structured by kharidjism...
