WI the great awakening had spread to Canada

The great awakening did not really affect the colonies that would become Canada until about a generation later then the colonies that became the USA. What would have been the effect of the awakening spreading north at the same time it was going strong in New England?

Wasn't Canada entirely Catholic French Canadian at that point, except for a few thousand fishermen in the newly acquired British maritime provinces?

Well, the Anglican church was rather on top in what is now Canada, and I guess more 'radical' protestant denominations would have been at least 'glared at', if not discriminated/discouraged. Not as much as Catholicism, but...

Talking of the British takeover and after, for later Awakenings at least.

Oh, but the Great Awakening in New England happened during the colonial period. Unless you're talking about the much later second one.

And if the second one is being talked about, it did spread to Canada:

Yes, I was a bit confused as I first posted this.

New France was firmly Catholic, and the northern British posession was in the hands of the Anglican Church, and well, Puritans a century before..

You could have it expand into the Maritimes; IIRC Nova Scotia had a few adherents to the Great Awakening.
