WI: The Flight to Verrenes succeeds

I'm currently studying the French Revolution and was curious to see what would happen if the Flight to Verennes succeeded, where Louis XVI gets across the border and meets up with the Austrian and Prussian Armies. And how would this change history

He doesn't get killed by the revolutionaries, and thus if the Revolutionary Wars end up with France on the ropes (unlikely unless Nappy rises as OTL and overplays his hand) the Bourbon Restoration restores Louis XVI to the throne.

France is invaded by Austria, and maybe several other powers.....revolution ends. Bourban restorationj.

Not really. This case means that France is going to fight even more. Its leaders may in fact replicate the successes of the 1790s and push to the Rhine as in OTL. Of course this could remain the state of affairs unless a Napoleon figure overplays France's power.

If the French Republic manages to survive, the Bourbons could be like OTL's Jacobites and constantly cause trouble for the Republic (or the Bonapartes) over the course of the 19th Century.

You might have Bourbon risings every 20-30 years.

Especially in the Vendee. Then again France might get its own version of Culloden, where the Bourbon cause is forever shattered.

Well the Bourbon that the English put up for 20 years didn't learn a thing. He was no sooner back on the throne, than He tried turning the clock back to 1789.
I think Louis XVI would have learned even less.

Unless the Austrians move quicker than the French can get their act together.
The period between capturing Louis, and his execution, was important in giving Revolutionary France needed time.
