WI the earth could not produce radioactive isotopes

no nukes or WMD's:

How would the Pacific Theater of WWII play out without the two bombs dropped?
Would there be a cold war, our without the threat of MAD would the countries release their inhibitions?
What about the war in Iraq? With no WMD's there is no reason for bush to invade.

Earth would be totally unrecognizable and probably lifeless. Without radioactive decay the Earth's core would have cooled to a solid at least a half billion years ago. There would be no magnetic field around the planet and radiation levels from the solar wind would be off the charts. There would also be no movement of the land masses due to continental drift.

What I meant was, that there still will be isotopes, but none that could be used for nukes.

so the world will function as normal... untill the nuclear bomb comes into play

You are aware that these isotopes ARE the ones that power the Earth's core, right?

Calbear and Lyn are correct--Earth is dead, unless this is an ASB Scenario. The Long half Life of Uranium--in the billions of years--is what's required to keep Earth's inside hot.

You can't fundamentally change the output of nuclear decay without applying its effects across the board. Those effects kill Earth. There's your answer.

I agree with what CalBear, the Lyniezian and BlueMax already said - in a nutshell, this is basically ASB.

In detail, uh... I'm too lazy to type it all up here, go and watch a geophysics lecture... :p
