Crusades

Do you mean the states in Syria and Palestine or the others including the kingdom of Cyprus, and the states in Greece?

Well, perhaps there'd be less independance movements. I mean, it's kind of hard to break away from Europe if your a Christian and they can deny your right to the Holy Land. Heck, that sounds intimidating. So, a movement may start, but it's probably not going to be the greatest force in North America.

And the Medit. Rim may be more Christian than Muslim, since there is a land-bridge for further holy wars.

It all depends on how.

Indeed.

In order to ensure the survival of the Crusader states, much larger developments will have to be altered or butterflied away.

For example; in order to let any Crusader state survive in the Levant, the Aegean or North Africa, you'll have to butterfly the Ottomans away - and that alone will have a such a major effect on the development of Europe, that the effects of the survival of the Crusader states will seem insignificant by comparison.

If you have the Latin Empire of Constantinople under some better rulers, managing to subdue the Greeks and Bulgarians, then go on the offensive against the Turks then the Ottomans can be butterflied away, and all sorts of possibilities open up...

If i am not mistaken Godfrey de Bouillon wanted to capture Egypt and donate Jerusalem to the Pope as Church's fief...

Am I the only one getting tired of noobs with only a few posts making these one-sentence topics with little context and vague questions?

It all depends on how they survive. Maybe an the alliance between the Il-khanate and the Franks is successful, and the Mongols conquer Mesopotamia and the crusaders expand again to the eastern Levant. Combine that with an earlier crusader Egypt, and there really isn't much that can stop the crusaders.
