WI: The Constitutional Convention’s Proceedings Were Open & Public?

I personally dislike- & am opposed to-gov-
ernment secrecy. Yet in the case of the Con-
stitutional Convention of 1787, I am com-
pelled to admit it was necessary. I just can’t
see, even imagine, how said Convention
could have come up with a workable instru-
ment of government if it’s proceedings had
been open to the public. But as always- what do the rest of you think?

At least in my opinion I think it would more than likely fail because the delegates would less willing to test their authority to change the constitution with the public watching their every move.

I can't really see it going any other way either. If they started proposing the same things they did IOTL, I would imagine states would pull out of the Convention as proposals which harmed their states came into the argument until the Convention collapsed.
