WI: The Chinese Second Phase Offensive in Korea Fails

Now, I have two questions on this:

1. Is it even possible for the US and UN to halt the Chinese? Would a PoD of MacArthur and Truman displaying more caution help, or perhaps aircraft and ground forces catching the Chinese spearheads crossing the Yalu help? It seems feasible to me, but I'd like other's viewpoints to come into play.

2. If it is possible, lets say that the US and UN push the Chinese back with quite heavy casualities. By mid 1951 the US and UN forces are over the Yalu but call a halt to regroup. While the Chinese have forces to call up for a counterattack, it will take them time to organize and the Politiburo's confidence is shaken in China's ability to win the war. What happens next? Would Stalin demand negotiations? Would China agree to a ceasefire?
