WI the Beagle 2 lander was succesful ?

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the unsuccesful landing attempt of the British lander probe, Beagle 2.

If the landing was succesful, would it possibly change anything about British space research programmes or ESA ?

It would have proved to the Americans that the British can build something in a garden shed for one thousanth of the cost and still do the same job :D

Well not exacctly a thousandth of the cost but Clementine suggested a moon recce mission could be done for $80 million in two years compared to the past at the time projected cost for NASA's Lunar Scouts of $150 million.

They couldn't. The probe in the movie is only an imposter of the real Beagle 2 - it's got NASA markings and is identified as an American probe. :D

That's M. Bay for you... :p
Exactly.

Please nobody let him loose on a film about that British submarine which captured the Enigma codes! He'd change the story so it was an American sub which captured that German one. Oh, wait...

Someone else beat him to it, didn't they?

I really think Bay should get it over with, and make his true masterwork...

'Splode: The Movie
150 minutes of pure explosive mayhem!
Monsieur Bay? He's FRENCH?

That explains why he spends so long making Americans look stupid. The bastard!
:D
