WI: The Acts of the Union never passed?

Would Scotland have been annexed by England eventually or would there be a conflict lasting hundreds of years?

By the time of the Act of Union, the two nations were very tightly integrated and their laws of succession were essentially identical. (Among other things, the Glorious Revolution predates the Act of Union.)
I suspect they'd have just stayed tightly integrated.

I suspect they'd have just stayed tightly integrated.

So eventually they would've had another go at trying to merge.

Realistically, when one considers all the money London spent on ensuring the union, the chances of the Acts of Union failing in Scotland are very slim.
