Hi all,
Let's say that for whatever reason, Edward VIII doesn't get the idea of marrying Wallis Simpson until mid 1939-say George V lives longer, perhaps Simpson doesn't divorce her second husband for a while.
What are the consiquences? Does this pretty much butterfly the abdication crisis from being much of a crisis at all, due to the much bigger issue of Nazi Germany? If not, does the abdication still happen and would this have any affect on the war?
I take it that Baldwin still resigns by this point anyway? He did say that the abdication crisis was the last straw for him, but I imagine he still goes and we get Chainberlain as OTL? If so, what's Neville's attitude?
Discuss.
