WI Techumseh survived long enough to create an "indian state" around the great lakes?

I just got my Canadian Geographic in the mail and I was reading that he had planned and discussed this idea with the British. Even talking with the lieutenant governor of Upper Canada.

In this scenario, he survives Thames and the Brittish were able to put up a slightly stronger showing in the War of 1812. The war was extended through another winter and with the threat of reinforcements coming from overseas the Americans surrender.

During the peace treaty, it was exposed that the Americans did not execute a final planned assault because it was deemed futile in the case of reinforcements, and also because there were insuffient ships to blockade the Saint Lawerence, had they have occupied to the north of the river.

Because of this, the Americans were treated well at the treaty, only losing small tracts of land such as the Northwest Angle and the Upper Peninsula. Tecumesh was also recognised at the treaty as a great ally and he was able to secure a large area of land from Grand Island to around St. Catherines (or maybe even Hamilton).

There's a timeline based on this scenario. It's certainly possible for Techumseh to set up a Indian protectorate under the influence of the British though it'll be difficult. I wish I could say more.

Bear in mind that running an idea past the Lt. Gov. Gen. is a far cry from receiving a royal decree. A more plausable "Native Protectorate" in TTL might include Drummond, St. Joseph, Cockburn & Manitoulin Islands along with the Bruce Peninsula. Perhaps Grand Island (though not the entire Niagara Peninsula) might also be taken and granted some special status.

Various threads related to this, although often not directly addressing the question

What if Tecumseh had united the Indians?

DoD also has an Indian Confederacy, formed out of Michigan (except Detroit, which becomes part of Upper Canada) and Indiana (except for the far south, which the US keeps). When Tecumseh dies in 1833, the United States under Andrew Jackson attacks and razes Prophet's Town (the capital of the IC) to the ground, sparking the Anglo-American War of 1833, which lasts for four years.

Yes, but w/Cockburn, Drummond & St. Joseph Islands in the one and Grand Island plus land on the "Canadian" upstream from there to Lake Erie only. The area around and downstream from the falls is prime land attractive for settlement (by, well, you know, British folk :( ) and essential for the future economic development and defense of the region.

It's possible if the luck of the draw gives Tecumseh a competent British officer to work with that he'd establish such a state, and that this state would blunt US expansion West for a generation. It would not exactly be a long-enduring state and would probably disintegrate after Tecumseh's death and be very troubled as he's getting older and more alien, and probably getting more despotic *as* he gets older and more alien. However the cultural butterflies in the USA of its seemingly irresistible march westward IOTL being delayed even by a generation, to say nothing of the political butterflies, are fascinating.

Can you draw it for me then?

I am thinking that if ITTL, Techumseh dies naturally (in the 1830's or 40's) and the British try and reclaim the land with the uncertainty of leadership, the native union could ban together against a common enemy. This will keep the nation alive for at least another generation.
