WI: Tebbit Instead of Major

How might the 1990s in the UK have been different if Thatcher's successor had been Norman Tebbit, rather than John Major?

You're going to have to go back to 1984 to make this plausible. Have Margaret Tebbit escape Brighton unharmed, which leaves Stormin' Norman able to serve in the cabinet until Thatcher's resignation (I'm not sure if it will happen on schedule if Tebbit is still able to take over). Let's say Tebbit makes it to the final ballot and beats Heseltine.

Now, I really doubt that Tebbit would last as long as Major. He would be much less popular with the public, and Labour would take advantage of his Thatcherite reputation. 1992 would result in a hung parliament, or even a Labour majority.
