I always here this talk of a surviving Aztec State and often surviving Inca state, and while Inca sounds relatively plausible the Aztec one sounds nearly impossible. Well from what info I can gather, the Tarascan State was much more centralized than the Aztecs, albeit smaller, but it was still a force to be reckoned with (it could field over 100,000 strong army). Now, I don't think it can fight off the Spanish, but what if it converted to Christianity, became a protectorate, and then won full independence around the time of the OTL Mexican Revolution? I am very well aware disease would wipe out a fair percentage of the populace, but if it had protectorate status and converted to Christianity, there would be a chance that the Spanish might do something to help the Tarascans fight the disease. Well, would any of you guys want to see me make a full timeline of this? Anyone?
