WI: Sukarno Died in Exile

It just came into my knowledge that when Sukarno was exiled by Dutch colonial government to the remote town of Ende in Flores, he had contracted a chronic strain of malaria during an outbreak around the region. He was seriously ill that even his associate in Volksraad (People's Council), M. H. Thamrin, was vehement in demanding the government that Sukarno be removed out of the island. Thamrin also warned the Dutch government that the world would hold them responsible for Sukarno’s murder if by any chance Sukarno is dead during his exile.

In OTL The colonial government took action and evacuated Sukarno to Bengkulu in February 1938 where he later regained health and lived there until he was freed after Japanese forces invaded the Indies in 1942.

Now my questions are what would happen if the colonial government denied Thamrin’s request and Sukarno died in exile? Will the world really hold the Dutch responsible for his death just like what Thamrin said? What effects would Sukarno’s death had to Dutch administration in East Indies? Sukarno’s demise would also mean that Indonesia will lose its most prominent leader during the Japanese occupation and its future president, what would be the implications of this to Indonesia's national movement in general?
