What if during the Vice Presidential debate on October 13, independent candidate for Vice President James Stockdale walks out of the debate on the seventeen minute mark. If we recall at this time, Quayle and Gore got into a long argument for several minutes where they argued over one another. Then, Stockdale interrupts and says "I think America is seeing right now the reason this nation is in gridlock." Now, as usual he kept quiet after that and when he spoke it simply seemed to sink the view people had on him.
Now, what if after he said that, he pauses for a moment and says, "I am sick and tired of this" and walks off the stage. He probably got the biggest applause out of the entire debate after that IRL, and by that point he did nothing really bad in terms of poor debating. So, how would the public react to a war hero echoing their sentiments and walking OFF OF THE DEBATE? How would Perot's numbers be affected not only by having his running mate perform well, but arguably embarrassing Quayle and Gore?
